It’s interesting that all dreams so far occurred around work place. Work place as the environment which is not home or private and personal?
The dream: Somebody disappeared at the work place and it came to light that the tip of his pointing finger had been cut off at the joint with laser technology. I wanted to find out more but I couldn’t, I only felt that he had been punished. But what for.? His hand had been drawn on a sheet of paper and the cut off part had been marked with yellow. Who did this to him? Which deed could justify such a punishment? Maybe it happened out of madness?
In my life work places especially larger entities like corporations, schools, governmental departments haven’t always been associated with good experiences. But I have to start with what I usually did as an adult whenever I was unhappy with conditions set by employers. I quit in one occasion from one day to the next announcing that I cannot and will not work under the conditions I became aware of. I was not afraid to not find another and better job.
Times changed. Scarcity of jobs and a variety of unnecessary low-level jobs to keep people busy has taken over the times when people could follow their ambitions and interests. I guess for young people it is almost impossible to imagine that it was possible to be true interviews, to negotiate conditions. Nowadays it is “Eat or die” … I call it the modern slavery enforced by the Department of Work and Pensions in the UK and by similar departments in other countries. The “Bundesagentur für Arbeit” in Germany is not different from the DWP.
It is happening everywhere that people feel and know that governments don’t have their well-being in mind. As soon as you lose the freedom to say “No!” to conditions you don’t want to accept because the government punishes you if you don’t follow their rules unconditionally, you are a slave. Of course, they don’t call you a slave.

Coming back to my experience at school described here. What I would have wished for that they talked to me and gave me the opportunity to listen to my point of view. I would have told them that I wish to be moved to the next year and if I failed again then I would agree to repeat the year. I still consider this as a fair compromise between their intentions and my intention and determination. They killed both when they decided over my head.
To put this experience into a positive outcome: Nobody can decide over my head. Rather sooner than later I leave. I will always choose more freedom over less freedom. It is sad enough how much suffering is forced onto people. Just recently a disabled man declared fit for work died at the job centre.
