By now I could have signed a contract with a new employer but a zero-hour contract. I felt tempted but at the end if there is one thing I never want to deal with again: to become dependent on the slave holder department of the government, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
There hopefully might be a different change on the horizon at my current workplace. I need to wait and see because this change has nothing to do with me but with circumstances out of my influence.
Above all I need to stay positive, keep the positive part of this employment in mind. The strongest argument is mentioned already: I’m not unemployed and I’m independent of the DWP. My one-year probation time ends tomorrow.
At the moment I wish for the weekend to come to have time to free my mind of the job focused thinking and return to writing and creating something different. It distracted me too much.
Independence
There is no absolute independence. It is always a question of which dependence you prefer if you can choose. Homeless and unemployed people are in the weakest position, no it’s a larger group, elderly and disabled people are not treated much better. One thing they have in common, dependence on the worst department ever: DWP.
